It is recommended that men who can hit a drive 200 yards choose the STANDARD tees.

Shore Gate Modified Scramble Opens Tomorrow

The application for the Modified Scramble at Shore Gate on May 22 will be posted tomorrow. Registration is open from April 24 to May 8. Please fill out all the information on the application, especially your current Handicap Index; I use it when I do the pairings. Of course, I will find your up-to-date Index before the tournament.

Remember, there are four new tournament policies this year:

1. Tournament fees: This year, the full tournament fee must be included with the tournament application. This is mostly for the convenience of the golf courses.

1. Refunds: The full tournament fee will be refunded until 10 days before a tournament (three days for medical or other unforeseen emergencies). Players who withdraw within 10 days (within three days for emergencies) will receive a refund of the tournament fee minus $10.

2. Net tournaments: The Stableford and Ryder Cup, which are net tournaments, will award at least one gross prize if the gross winners do not qualify for a net prize.

3. Tipping: $2 will be added to the cost of each tournament to cover tips. This will guarantee the bag boy $1 per bag at the start and finish of each tournament. If the money doesn’t get used for tips, the extra will be added to the prizes.

2014 JustGolf Membership Application Reminder

If you haven’t yet sent your 2014 JustGolf Membership Application, please do so as soon as possible. I have a very busy spring (tennis, golf, umpiring softball, officiating tennis, answering golf questions on my blog), and it would make the JustGolf tournament process easier for me if your application for membership were to arrive before the application for the first tournament.
