Vineyard Handicaps

Key to Handicap Chart – Vineyard Modified Scramble
Maximum Course Handicap is 18 for men and 24 for women.

Vineyard ratings:

Red tees (women): 69.4/117; 5176 yards

White tees (men) 70.4/125; 6358 yards

Green tees (men playing forward tees): 67.8/117; 5748 yards

Explanation:

• Handicap Index is as of the June 1 revision.

• Course Handicap is based on the slope rating.

• CH Adjustment is based on points accumulated in tournaments during the past two

years for first, second, or third place net finishes (see the Handicap Adjustment

Chart on the JustGolf website: http://justgolftournaments.blogspot.com).

• Tournament CH is the player's Course Handicap minus the CH Adjustment.

• Forward tee adjustment is the number of strokes subtracted for men playing from

the forward tees: 70.4-67.8=2.6 divided by 2=1.3

• Official 40% or 25% CH: the player with the lower Course Handicap receives 40%

of CH, and the player with the higher CH receives 25% of CH.

• Team Handicap is the number of strokes the team will receive in the tournament.

Vineyard Rules and Course Information

Please print and bring to the tournament.

Tees:
Women will play the Red tees.
Men will play the White  (standard) or Green (senior) tees.

Scramble Rules:
1. You must use 7 tee shots from each player (par 3 holes included).
2. Each player tees off on each hole. Select one tee shot and both players play their second shots from that spot, and so on, until the ball is holed. Once the ball is holed, the score for that hole is final, so be sure to mark your ball on the green if your partner has not yet putted.
3. Once you select the shot to be used, place a marker on the ground. The next shot by both players must be hit from within 12 inches of that marker, no closer to the hole. You may not use the 12 inches to improve your condition.
4. Record one score for each hole.
5. There are no “gimmies;” hole every ball.

Return completed scorecard in person to official scorer.
• Maintain a good pace of play. Keep up with the players in front of you.
• Tipping is optional. $2 of your tournament fee will be used to tip the bag handlers.

Time of starting:
If your partner is late, you must start without him at your assigned tee time. Since you must use 7 drives from each player, your partner may join you as late as Hole #12.

Course Information:
• Out of Bounds: Marked by white stakes and boundary fence posts.
• Do not enter the vineyards or other environmentally protected areas.
• Environmentally sensitive areas: Red stakes with white tops indicate environmentally sensitive areas where entry is not permitted. A ball coming to rest in these areas may not be searched for and must be abandoned. Relief options are the same as for a lateral water hazard.
• Dirt cart paths: There is no free relief from dirt cart paths.
• Drop areas: You may NOT use the drop areas on holes #3 and #13.
• Bathrooms: Portables near holes 3, 6, 14, 15, and behind halfway house.
• Hole location: chart on cart.
• Yardage markers (to center of green): sprinkler heads; red, white, and blue disks (100, 150, 200).
• Carts: drive onto fairways, remain on fairways, exit fairways at signs. Do not drive or park in rough.
• Repair divots with divot mix on cart. Rake bunkers.
• Practice putting green; no driving range.
