Running Deer Rules and Course Information

No need to print – one copy per team will be available at the registrar's table.

Tournament Rules
• The Rules of the USGA govern play.
• All JustGolf Local Rules are in effect.
• Play the ball down everywhere unless told otherwise by the starter.
• Men’s Format: Better Ball; Women’s Format: Shamble
   a. Pick up if you are out of the hole and your group is falling behind.
   b. Every ball that will count must be holed. Absolutely no gimmes.
• Women’s Shamble: Both women will hit a tee shot on each hole. The team will choose the better drive. Both players will complete the hole from that spot, each playing her own ball. Each team is required to use at least seven drives from each player. There will be two scores for each hole. Only the better score on each hole will count.
• Slope and rating: White tees: 69.8/120; Gold tees (seniors): 67.8/114; Red tees (women): 72.7/128
• Scorecards: Sign and return in person to scorer immediately after your round. Players must remain in the scoring area until the score is verified.

Advice
The greens are challenging. Spend time putting on the practice green, which closely resembles what you will experience out on the course.
• The 150-yard marker barber poles are a reliable aiming point on each hole.
• Everything is out in front of you except for a hidden lateral water hazard behind the left bunker on Hole #11.
• Hit a provisional for every ball hit into the woods.
• Please rake all bunkers and replace divots or repair with divot mix on cart.
• Bathrooms: After #6 green on cart path to #7 tee; behind snack shack. Both  bathrooms are latrines. You may prefer the bathroom in the clubhouse.

Course Information
Yardage markers: 150-barber poles; disks in ground: Blue-200, Red-100.
Hole locations: No chart or colored flags. However, there are reflectors on the top of the flagsticks for laser rangefinders.
Private property signs are equivalent to out of bounds stakes. Any ball past the signs is out of bounds.
Cart paths: All dirt cart paths are in play. No free relief.
Cart Rules: Exit fairways at green poles with white tops that say “Exit.” Keep carts completely on paths around greens.

• ALL THE FOLLOWING DISTANCES ARE MEASURED FROM THE BACK OF THE TEE BOX. ORDER OF DISTANCE INFO: WHITE, GOLD, RED.
• HIT A PROVISIONAL FOR EVERY BALL HIT INTO WOODS.
#1: To end of bunker on left: 265, 250, 235.
#2: Private property signs in woods are equivalent to OB stakes.
#3: If you hit ball into “Grand Canyon” on left, YOU MUST HIT A PROVISIONAL BALL!!!
#4: To left bunker: 214, 155, 150. To right bunker: 204, 145, 140.
#5: Yellow-staked hazard: Drop behind hazard on line-of-sight to hole or re-tee.
#6: To left bunker: 230, 176. To right bunker: 224, 174.
#7: Red and Gold tees just past bathroom; White tees on other side of hollow. Hit a provisional if you don’t carry the rough and you don’t see your ball.
#8: To left bunker: 257, 217. To right bunker: 233, 193
#9: To large fairway waste area: 235, 209, 166. Barber pole to right of bunker indicates a small strip of fairway that skirts waste area. You must aim your second shot to left of fairway, as trees block shots on right side 50 yards from green.
#10: To bunker on right: 216, 199, 169.
#11: Hidden lateral hazard past left bunker.
To left bunker: 205, 166, 160. To right bunker: 231, 190, 189.
#12: Everything right of red stakes is part of the hazard. Play ball as it lies in hazard, do not ground club. Under penalty of 1 stroke drop within two club-lengths of where ball crossed hazard boundary or hit a ball from where you hit previous shot. If previous shot was on tee, you may re-tee. No drop area.
#14: To bunker on right: 313, 285.
#15: Bunker crosses fairway 50 yards from green.
#17: Lateral hazard on left. Out of bounds in woods on right (note Private Property signs). Narrow fairway with trouble on both sides – choose club for tee shot with care. Good line for tee shot is just to left of tree in fairway.
#18: To left bunker: 214, 195, 165. To right bunker: 190, 171, 143.
OB on right – note white stakes (not many).
