Golden Pheasant Rules and Course Information

Please print and bring to the tournament. No copies will be available at the tournament.

Note: Players are expected to arrive at the first tee ten minutes prior to their tee time. A player whose partner arrives late may begin play and count his own score, provided his partner arrives in time to use his drive on seven holes.

Exchange scorecards. Add up the scores (front, back, and total). All players must report to scorer’s table at the end of the round.

1. Format: This is a modified scramble. The modification is that you must use each player’s  tee shot on any seven holes. You may use either player’s tee shot on the other four holes.
Scramble: Both players tee off. Choose the shot you wish to play. Both players hit their second shot from within one foot of that shot, no closer to the hole. Again, choose which ball you wish to play, and continue in this manner until ball is holed. No “gimmes.” Once the ball is holed, the hole is complete.
Preferred lies: When you decide whose shot to use, mark the spot. Both players must hit the next shot from within one foot of that spot, no closer to the hole. You may not use that one foot to improve your lie, e.g., if the ball is in the rough, your next shot must be from the rough; if you are in a bunker, you must stay in the bunker; if you are out-of-bounds or under a tree or in an unplayable lie, you must stay there.
Scores: Record gross score only, one gross score per hole. Record number of tee shots used by each player. When both have reached 7 drives, stop recording drives.
Same ball: Players must hit the same ball, tee to hole, unless the ball is lost.
Pace of play: Please do not waste time looking for a ball you know you won’t use. The goal is to complete your round in 4 hours and 15 minutes.

2. Tees: White tees for men: 68.1/123; Green tees for women: 68.8/114.

3. Water hazards: yellow stakes. Add a one-stroke penalty and hit next shot from (1) anywhere on a straight line back from the flagstick through your ball, or (2) from where you hit your previous shot.

4. Lateral water hazards: red stakes. Add a one-stroke penalty and hit next shot from (1) within two club-lengths of edge of hazard no closer to hole, or (2) anywhere on a straight line back from the flagstick through your ball, or (3) from where you hit your previous shot.

5. Out of Bounds: white stakes. Reminder: If both shots are out of bounds, you must hit your next shot from where you hit the previous shot and add a one-stroke penalty to your score.

6. Yardage marked to center of greens: red plate=100 yards, black and white pole=150 yards. blue plate=200 yards

7. Stones in bunkers: Loose impediments – they may be removed.

8. Cart rules (subject to change): Drive everywhere permitted.

9. Personal coolers small enough to fit in the basket are permitted. However, please remember that no alcohol is permitted on the course during the tournament.

10. Restaurant: Lunch and drinks (including alcoholic beverages) will be available.

11. Practice areas: Putting green near clubhouse, chipping green across #9 fairway, driving range limited to medium irons (you must bring your own balls and you may not retrieve them)
