Hi golfers,
I am going to publish the JustGolf tournament schedule
tomorrow. Here is some additional information to help you better understand the
schedule.
Two tournaments are scheduled for the same day at Harbor
Pines – the Championship and a Better Ball. The Championship will be a gross
tournament played in flights (the same as last year). The Better Ball will be a
net tournament. All competitors will be enrolled in both tournaments, which
will be played at the same time. I will explain how this will work before
publishing the application. My motive for creating this unusual double
tournament was to encourage players who prefer to have a partner to participate,
and to make sure everyone who wanted to play this fine course would have a
format they could enjoy.
All of the other tournaments –Better Ball, Modified
Scramble, Ryder Cup, Mixed Modified Scramble, and Stableford– will be gross and
net.
I do not have a date for Linwood. There are several
possibilities, but the course is unable to guarantee a date until the season is
well underway. If they will not commit a reasonable time in advance, I will
find another course. I prefer to wait as long as possible, since Linwood is
such a delightful course.
The tournaments at Ramblewood and Linwood will be
shotgunned. All other tournaments will have tee times – Blue Heron will begin
at 9, the others at 10.
I will publish the membership application in a few weeks. The
dues will be $15.00 this year beginning on April 1. Players who register prior
to that date will pay only $12.00. Look for details when I post the
application.
